Sushmita (born in 1993 – died February 17, 2020) is an Indian Playback Singer in the Kannada Film Industry. She is from Mandya district, located in Karnataka. Sushmita followed her singing interest and began her career in the music industry.

Sushmita appeared in the inter-city events and national level competitions. She got her first break in the Kannada Cinema at the age of 21. She worked with the top music directors of the industry. Her most famous album is Sri Samaya (2018).

Furthermore, she voiced some music tracks of the album with other singers like Indrasena and Lata Hamsalekha. However, she married early to a businessperson Sharath. She was unhappy with her relationship.

Though her husband forced her to bring money and jewelry from her family, she committed suicide at her mom’s home on February 17, 2020. Her body found hanging with a fan of her room. Police began the investigation with the help of her suicide note.

Sushmita Raje took birth in Mandya (Karnataka, India) in 1993. However, her mother, Meenakshi Raje, and dad divorced in her childhood.

The name of her younger brother is Sachin Raje. Moreover, she stayed with them in Nagarbhavi area in Bengaluru City. She completed her graduate degree from the Darshan College, Bengaluru.

Wedding, Spouse & Personal Life

In the presence of her friends and relatives, she wedded with Sharath Kumar on July 1, 2018. Then, she moved with him to the Kumaraswamy Layout Residence in South Bengaluru region.

Her life partner is working in a car showroom on the manager position. However, she faced a tough time in her in-laws’ house due to their bad behavior. Her aunt Vaidehi and sister-in-law Geetha demanded money from her. On February 16, 2020, she went to visit her maternal house.

Susmita lived there for a day and then texted her brother about her toxic relationship. In her mom’s house, she hangs her body from the ceiling fan of her room. Around 5:30 am, Sachin saw what’s app message and ran to his sister’s room. He discovered the dead body of the Kannada singer in the room.

Sharath’s wife left a note and mentioned about the ill-treatment of her in-laws. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Police began the questioning sessions with them. Ramesh Banoth (Deputy Commissioner, Police) registered the case under Section 304B IPC (dowry & death).
