Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati or Silk Smitha (born 2 December, 1960) was an Indian film actress and stage performer from Eluru, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. She mostly worked in South Indian films only.
The reason for her popularity was all the stage shows done by her in the movies.
Famous by the name of an erotic actress, she first came into limelight by her role “Silk” in the Tamil movie Vandichakkaram. She entered the industry as a Side actress.
Because of her bold scenes in the movies, she becomes the sex symbol in 1980. She covered alomst more than 450 films and appeared in many movies like Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and also appeared in Hindi cinema.
Because of the dissatisfaction from her life, she committed suicide and found dead in her Chennai apartment on 23 September 1996.
Her acting career reached peak because of her seductive acting in films “Layanam”, “Reshma Ki Jawani”, “Moondram Pirai”, “Vayal”, “Sheetakoka Chiluka”, “Theerpu” and “Ranga”.

South Indian actress Smitha age was 35 years old when she found dead (September 23, 1996) in her apartment. Born in a very poor Telugu family her father was a daily worker & mother Sarasamma was a housewife.
Because of family issues and financial constraints, she left her school at the age of 10 years only (there is no information available of her academics but we will update soon) when she was in the fourth standard.
Her brother name is V Naga Vara Prasad but there is no as such information about her sister.

Famous by the name of “Soft Porn” actress, she started her career as a touch-up actress and later worked with Vinu Chakravarthy at a flour mill near AVM studios.
She also worked as Cabaret dancers and vamps due to her marked sex appeal. She also got the name Silk after her role in the film Vandichakkaram (her first debut).
Smitha was involved in a relationship and her boyfriend name is Vinu Chakravarthy, but there relation does not go well. Laterly, she got married at a very young age and even brutally beaten by her in-laws and husband as well because of her sex appeal, there is no information available about her spouse but we will update soon.
She was very much tortured by her in-laws and even they were the main reason for her sudden suicide.
