Riyaz Naikoo (born in 1985) was a former professional math teacher and terrorist, from Beighpora Village, Awantipora tehsil Pulwama District, Jammu & Kashmir. He was famously known as the operational commander and leader of a terror group named “Hizbul Mujahideen”.

It was a banned terror group in India which was controlled by Riyaz. Before adopting terrorism, Riyaz Naikoo was an intelligent and well-educated person. He worked as a professional maths teacher at a private school in his hometown.

The Hizbul Mujahideen operational commander was born as Riyaz Ahmed Naikoo in the year 1985 in Beighpora Village, Awantipora tehsil Pulwama District, Jammu & Kashmir. Riyaz died at the age of 35 years old in the operation of Pulwama district, Kashmir Valley.

His father “Asadullah Ahmed” is a tailor and runs a small tailor shop in J&K. His mother “Zeba Ahmed” is also a tailor and takes care of the shop along with his dad.

He was born in a good locality and grew up with good values. He never thought in his childhood that there would ever be a turning point in his life that would force him to become a terrorist.

Riyaz Naikoo completed his schooling from a local private school in Noorpora. After that, he did his graduation in major of Mathematics and Science from J&K university. He was an intelligent person by birth. After completing his higher studies, he started working as a teacher of maths in a private school in his hometown. He worked there for many years.

How Riyaz Naikoo became a terrorist from a school teacher

Then what happened was that the teacher of the school suddenly became a terrorist. It all started in the year 2010. That year, 17-year-old Ahmed Matto died of tear gas while on display. Much like that changed in the valley after that death.

Many people started rioting. Many peoples were caught by the police. Naikoo was also one of them. He was released in 2012, but by then he had completely changed. He has since fled from his hometown.

Then on the same night of 2012, he took 7 thousand rupees from his father for admission to further studies at Bhopal University. Then he never showed up after that night. A month later, it was revealed that the son had become a terrorist.
