Nodeep Kaur (born in 1996) is a Dalit laborer and trade union activist from Muktasar Sahib, Punjab, India. The 24-year-old activist has come into the limelight after getting bail in one of the three charges filed against her on February 15, 2021. She got bail for the first case in the first week of February after filing a petition.
She is charged with various heinous crimes including murder(307), extortion, theft, rioting (148), causing hurt to public servant from his duty(332), snatching and use of force (379-B), assault on public servant(353), obstructing public servant (186), unlawful assembly (149), and criminal intimidation by the Haryana Police. Associated with the Mazdoor Adhikar Sangathan Union, Nodeep Kaur is a worker in a factory situated in Kundli. She has been arrested by the Haryana police while she was protesting against the privatization laws imposed by the Government of India. Born and brought up in Punjab, India, Nodeep Kaur worked as a laborer at a factory based in Haryana to support the poor economical condition of her family.
Aged 24 (as of 2021), this young activist has been in jail for about a month now. She has been a part of the Farmers protest after being fired by her employer without giving her pay. There is no update about the early life of Nodeep Kaur. However, according to sources, Sukhdeep Singh (father) is filing petitions for the bail of his daughter claiming that she is innocent and was not a part of anything unlawful done against law and order.

According to a statement released by Inspector Ravi Kumar, SHO Police Station Kundli, Sonipat Nodeep Kaur a Dalit laborer along with a mob of people was heading towards a factory (where she worked as a laborer) for extortion of money. Armed with wooden sticks, this mob was out of control and was raising slogans against the officials of the factory.

Further in his statement, he claimed that the mob was out of control and was ready to kill the policemen if they came in their way. Also, they attacked the officials with wooden sticks, stones, and bricks resulting in injuries on various body parts of the officials. Not only this one of the protestors even tried to snatch carbine from the Gunman along with a case file that contained documents related to public affairs.
A few people ran away with their weapons while Nodeep Kaur was arrested by the officials violating sections 148,149, 186, 332, 353,384, 379-B, and 307 of the IPC on the 12th of January, 2021.
