Neeraj Chopra (born December 24, 1997) is an Indian Javelin Thrower, Field and Track Athlete, Gold Medal Winner, and Sports Personality from Khandra Village, Panipat. The Haryana boy has made India proud by entering in top five to qualify IAAF Diamond League. In fact, the finals of the Diamond League will hold on August 30, 2018.
Besides Neeraj, others qualified for the league are Johannes Vetter, Thomas Rohler, Andreas Hoffman and Magnus Kirt. Now, Chopra has placed on the sixth position with 12 points from three outings.
Javelin Throw CWG Gold Winner Story
The first Diamond League organized in Doha in which he finished at fourth place with a throw of 87.43 m. During the Eugene competition, his position came down to sixth place 80.81 m throw. Earlier this year, 20-year-old Chopra, won the CWG gold with a throw of 86.47 m.
Therefore, he has sealed his place for the Diamond league finals with 85.17 m throw. Meanwhile, the remaining squads for the league will be decided on August 18 meeting held in Birmingham decided by IAAF.
