Luis Alvarez (born in 1966) is an American Marine Officer and Former Bomb Squad Detective from the USA. Actually, he was the 9/11 attack first responder. Luis spent around three months in the World Trade Center during the attacks. After that, he suffered from a serious illness. He also diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2016.
Furthermore, Alvarez got chemotherapy treatment from the doctors. His liver also damaged after some time. He planned to enter hospice care. In the final days, he looked for help from the Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) for the September 11 attack survivors.
He met the House Judiciary subcommittee on June 11, 2019. Actually, Luiz wanted to increase the funds. The VCF provided $5 Billion US Dollars to the 22,500 respondents. Meanwhile, Congress also passed the bill to increase the funds by December 2020.
However, Chief Dermot F. Shea (Chief of Detectives, New York) announced Luis death news on June 30. On the other hand, Alvarez family and lawyer confirmed about his death on Saturday by the Facebook post. He lost his battle with cancer. Finally, he also provided hope for the other respondent in the 9/11 attacks.
