Lina Hidalgo (born in 1991) is an American Politician, Activist and, Harris County Judge from Harris County, Texas, USA. On November 6, 2018, she elected Commissioners Court Judge after defeating Ed Emmett. Furthermore, the 27-year-old politician also worked at the Texas Civil Rights Project.
She coordinated with advocacy groups to fight for criminal justice reform. Moreover, Lina served in Southeast Asia to promote transparency and accountability. She is the first female and Latina county judge.
In addition, Hidalgo told in an interview that she had a really tough fight against Emmett. She said that Emmett has way more experience and also raised more money than her. However, many people are saying that her win is random as many Democrats forget to vote for Ed. The judge also worked at Ben Taub Hospital as a translator for Spanish-speaking patients.
