The incident happened when the boy was in the bodega and a group of men started attacking him with knives.
Furthermore, Lesandro was stabbed multiple times including on his neck. He tried to drag himself to the St. Barnabas Hospital but collapsed midway and then died. The police started an investigation and found out that he was attacked by a machete knife.
There is a possibility that the murder was happened due to a sex tape which was forwarding on the social media. In the video, a boy was having sex with a girl and another teen was rapping.
However, his mother confirmed to the police that her son once told her to lend money to his friend at the bodega. It was the same night he was killed by the attackers. On 23 June 2018, the attackers were found as street gang Trinitarios. They also apologized for killing him as they misunderstand him for someone else.
