Hiroo Johar (born 18 March 1943) is a famous Indian producer, director, and entrepreneur from Mumbai, India. She is famously known in the country for her best romantic movies.
She started working in the entertainment industry after her marriage. Moreover, her brothers were also great producers and directors of the Bollywood film Industry. She produced her first Hindi movie named “Dostana” in the year 1980.
After that, she produces many super hit Bollywood movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Agneepath, Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani, and others. She is the mother of a famous director, actor, and producer of the Hindi film industry named “Karan Johar”.

Early Life
The lady came to this world from her parents on Thursday, March 18, 1943 (age 77 years old as of 2020), in Rahon, India. At the time of her birth, there was British rule. She was born in a Punjabi Khatri family a Hiroo Chopra.
Her father “Lal Vilayati Raj Chopra” worked for the British Punjab administration in the PWD Division as an Accountant.

Some media reports say that Hiroo moved to Mumbai along with her family after partition in India in 1947. She completed her schooling from a local private school. After that, she took admission to the Mumbai University for her higher education.
Personal Life
Hiroo Johar got married to her husband named “Yash Johar”. It was an arranged marriage. Yash Johar was a famous Indian filmmaker and producer. Hiroo’s brother B.R Chopra was the good friend of Yash Johar.

That’s why he fixed his sister’s marriage with Yash. After marriage, she gave birth to a son named “Karan Johar” on 25 May 1972. She produced many films along with her hubby. After some time, on 26 June 2004, Yash Johar passed away at the age of 74 due to cancer.
After this, she completely broke down. She then decided to live life ahead with her son. After her hubby’s death, Hiroo did not remarry. At present, Hiroo Johar lives happily along with her son Karan and two grandchildren “Yash Karan Johar” and “Roohi Karan Johar” in Mumbai.
