Chitra Wagh (born b/w 1966-1971) is the Vice- President of BJP from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The famous politician is known to work on the agenda of women’s safety and rights in society.

Heading on the position of the Woman State President at the NCP, Chitra resigned from the post to join the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).
She left the NCP after the backdrop of the assembly elections. Several people were resigning from their posts to join parties like BJP and Shiv Sena. Chitra Wagh has been in the headlines after she accused the Maharashtra Government and Pune Police of “trying to shield” Sanjay Rathod the state Forest Minister concerning the Pooja Chavan Death Case.
Reports are that Pooja Chavan a 22-year-old girl jumped off her apartment in Mumbai on February 7, earlier this month after being instigated by the state Forest Minister Sanjay Rathod.
Chitra Wagh reportedly visited the apartment in which Pooja stayed with other two people. After which she visited the Wanavdi police station to meet the Pune Police Commissioner, Amitabh Gupta, Questioning him about the delay in lodging an FIR against the Pooja-Rathod case.
Pooja was declared dead soon after she was taken to the hospital after she attempted suicide. Sanjay Rathod has claimed that he is nowhere to be blamed for the suicide and called it all politics. However, 12 leaked audio clips are taking rounds on the internet which hints at the connection between Sanjay Rathod and Pooja Chavan[3]Indian Express.
Also, reports are that Chavan’s parents have commented that their daughter took her life because of the financial problems her family was suffering from. As reported by trusted sources, Pooja took a loan of about 20-25 Lakhs to start a poultry farm which miserably failed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Her parents have declined the connection of Sanjay Rathod with their daughter’s suicide.
