Carley McCord (born July 24, 1989 – died December 28, 2019) was an American Freelance Sports Reporter, Journalist, and Host from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is well-recognized for being the daughter-in-law of Steven Ensminger.
He works as an offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Louisiana State University as of December 2019. Furthermore, Ensminger previously started his career as a player and played quarterback in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints in 1980.
The same year, he also performed for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL in 1980. Later, Steven played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1981. On December 28, 2019, she tragically passed away in a plane crash near the Lafayette Regional Airport in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The young journalist was one of five people who lost her life in a small plane collision in Louisiana. Moreover, the other people who died in a plane crash are Ian E. Biggs (pilot), Gretchen Vincent, Robert Vaughn Crisp, and Michael Walker Vincent.
According to a source, the plane initially took off and quickly tried an emergency landing. It crashed less than a mile away from the Lafayette Regional Airport. On the way down, it hit a power line and caught fire.

The 30-years-old Carley McCord launched a romantic affair with her then-boyfriend, Steven Ensminger Jr. a few years back. The couple tied the knot with her husband in January 2018 in a private affair.
On the day of her death, the reporter was about to cover Peach Bowl playoffs in Atlanta between the LSU Tigers and the University of Oklahoma Sooners. Ensminger Jr. was the first person who confirmed her death to The Associated Press.

Many people who know describe her as an aspiring sports sideline reporter with a cheerful personality. During the Peach Bowl game, her father-in-law spotted wiping his tears on the field. Later, LSU’s quarterback gave him a tight hug at the game.
Steven Ensminger even received appreciation because he was still coaching despite the tragedy. LSU Tigers won the match with a 63-28 score.
