He has founded this NGO with his Wife Smitha in 1989. The main aim of this social organization is to help mentally ill persons to reunite with their families.
The 60-year-old doctor has also raised funds from various modes to help mentally retarded people. He contributes Rs. 2 lakhs Indian Rupees from his salary (income) to run this Foundation. At present, more than 7,000 mentally ill street people have reunited with their families by Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation.
In July 2018, Doctor Bharat Vatwani has honored by winning Ramon Magsaysay award (2018) for his work. In addition, Sonam Wangchuk (Ladakh-based engineer) has also shared this Asian version of Nobel Prize award with him.
