Alan Maloney (born in 1978) is an American High School Wrestling Referee from Buena, New Jersey. Alan came into the news headlines when he forced a student wrestler to shave dreadlocks. Furthermore, the 40-year-old referee asked Buena Regional High School wrestler Andrew Johnson to choose between cutting his dreadlocks or left the match.
The incident happened on December 19, 2018. The wrestler Johnson had a match against Oakcrest High School. Moreover, Andrew belongs to Afro-American ethnicity. Later, he shaved his dreadlocks but he clearly devastated by the incident.

In the video, Johnson is seen getting his dreadlocks cut off before he led his team to an overtime victory. According to a source, the wrestler came to compete with his dreadlocks in a wrap. However, Alan Maloney still ordered that Johnson should shave his hair completely.
His behavior gained him a lot of hate on the internet. Moreover, Alan also accused of racist. This was not the first time that Maloney’s actions are criticized by the people.
In fact, he allegedly used a racial slur against another referee back in 2016. When the authorities asked him then Alan said that he didn’t remember anything. Alan Maloney received a 1-year suspension for his racial actions during the match.
